Our mission
sights.uz was born from a simple idea: there are thousands of remarkable places in the world, but learning about most of them means digging through a dozen different sources just to find out where they are and which country they belong to. We brought all of that into one place β an interactive map.
Find any place in seconds: its exact coordinates, its history, its photos, and everything else worth knowing β without ever leaving home.
The heritage of the Turkic world
From Central Asia to Anatolia, from the Caucasus to Mongolia and Hungary β the Turkic peoples have lived across a vast territory for thousands of years, building cities, mausoleums, mosques, madrasas and fortresses. This heritage has too often stayed out of the world's view β we want to change that.
sights.uz currently covers thousands of places across Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Northern Cyprus, Mongolia and Hungary β each with real history, not just a caption.
What you can do
Pick any country or region on the map β every historical monument, nature reserve and museum there appears as a marker. Click any place to see its full description, photos and exact location β in 10 languages. Save your favorites and come back to them later.
Where the information comes from
Every place's text and photos come from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, under an open license, always with the source credited. That means the information keeps growing and improving over time, just like Wikipedia itself.
