Arnasoy Lakes — lakes located at the place where Mirzachoʻl meets the Eastern Kyzylkum. In a tectonic basin extending from the north‑east to the south‑west. The absolute elevation of the lake bottom is about 250 m. Before the lakes formed, the area was geomorphologically composed of an eolian sand relief like the Kyzylkum. The depressions were occupied by salt marshes and small lakes. In 1969, as a result of the discharge of a large volume of excess water from the Chordara water reservoir, the depressions filled with water and several lakes formed. The lakes are connected to each other by narrow channels. Total length 32 km, widest point 12 km, average depth 1‑3 m. Through the Central Mirzachoʻl diversion, brackish waters also flow into the Arnasoy Lakes (volume 1.6‑1.8 km³), salinity 4‑5 g per litre. In winter a certain amount of water is released from the Chordara reservoir, therefore the mineralisation level of the lake water is not very high. Excess water from the Arnasoy Lakes flows through a narrow channel into Aydar Lake. The lakes are bordered by reed beds. In the waters of the Arnasoy Lakes there are swimming birds, carp, zander, bream, trout, catfish and other fish. Fishing is carried out in the Arnasoy Lakes.
