The Ayudy sanctuary is a state nature reserve of about 5,870 hectares in Ulan district, East Kazakhstan region, following a stretch of the Bukhtarma River within the Altai steppe and semi-desert ecoregion. Its protected area covers the river's rocky banks and adjoining steppe, with recorded birdlife including falcons and thrush species. The sanctuary was established to protect this section of the Bukhtarma valley, where the river's riparian corridor cuts through otherwise dry steppe terrain, creating a narrow but ecologically important band of habitat for birds and other wildlife that depend on the water. Like other sanctuaries along the Bukhtarma system, Ayudy has no developed tourist facilities and is managed mainly as a conservation area, valued locally for its river scenery and birdlife rather than any single landmark feature.
