The Flag Museum in Beylagan was opened in November 2016 as part of a nationwide series of regional flag museums established across Azerbaijan to document the country's state symbols and history. Housed in a building covering about 420 square metres, it displays around 129 exhibits tracing the flags, emblems, and governing structures of states that have existed on Azerbaijani territory through history. The collection includes historical maps, copies of constitutions, state orders and medals, banknotes issued during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic period, postage stamps of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and military uniforms once worn by officers of the country's security and law-enforcement services. Together the exhibits are arranged to walk visitors through the evolution of Azerbaijani statehood and national symbolism, making the museum a small but focused resource for understanding the region's political and symbolic history.
