The Ferencváros Local History Collection has operated since 1997 at Ráday utca 18 in Budapest's ninth district, inside a Neo-Renaissance townhouse built in 1875 to a design by the noted architect Miklós Ybl for the Károlyi family. The collection gathers photographs, graphic works, postcards, documents, and small printed ephemera relating to the history of Ferencváros, one of Budapest's older inner-city districts. Beyond its permanent holdings, the institution runs a varied public program, including guided and smartphone-based walking tours of the neighborhood, lectures, film screenings, and temporary or online exhibitions such as "Ferencváros Centuries" and "My Ferencváros." Much of its outreach is aimed at helping both longtime residents and newcomers, many of whom arrived during decades of urban renewal in the district, understand and engage with the area's layered past. It functions as a modest but active center of local memory rather than a conventional large museum, open on weekdays and Saturday mornings.
