Grand Mosque of Kozan
Hoşkadem Mosque, located in the center of Kozan district of Adana province, is an important building as it is a work from the early years when Çukurova came under Turkish control.
A plaque is seen above the main gate. From this Seljuk-style grift in thuluth script it is understood that the mosque was commissioned by "Emir Abdullah Hoşkadem", son of the Mamluk Sultan of Egypt Malik Zahir Seyfettin Çakmak, on 10 Muharram 852. This date corresponds to the year 1448 in the Gregorian calendar. The mosque was damaged in the earthquake that occurred in 2023.
