The Wolf's Nest Cave is a rock-era (Middle Paleolithic) human habitation located on the left side of the Crimean Valley on the rocky slope of the hill in the village of Mohammadi in Absheron district.

About the

In December 2018, during the exploration work of the Absheron archaeological expedition in the region, a large number of stone age tools were discovered between the villages of Balakhan and Mohammadi in the area called Krmaki. Since tools were found in a large area, it is not excluded that an ancient camp was located here. The founded stone-edged hammer, cutting tools, miniature hand-claps and made from anandezite stone. Absheron's paleo-geography does not contradict the topography of the location of the buried monument.

Ancient paleontological materials discovered in the geological sediments indicate that the area had a rich fauna in the Paleolithic period, while recent findings suggest that the area was also attracting ancient hunters during the Paleolithic period.

The environment of the area was favorable for the early human habitation, the availability of game for humans, and the presence of permanent fires as a source of heat, which led to the area being an ancient human habitation.
