Hulbuk was the central city of the Khattalon region in the middle ages (6 XVI centuries). In Greek-Bactrian sources it is mentioned as Hulbissa, in Chinese sources ("Tanshu") as "Ko-lo-kyan". It is located on the southern bank of the Red River (Tajikistan). It is thought to have been located at Mir-zatepa. In the X century H. was a bustling city with many Russians. In H. it was smaller than the center of Sagonion, in the H. when the Huth-Talon was the seat of the ruler.
