Kalicsa cavity
The Kalicsa-álbarlang is a cave located in the Visegrád Mountains in the Danube–Ipoly National Park, in the area of Tahitótfalu.
Description
The Kalicsa stream marks the administrative border between Tahitótfalu and Dunabogdány. The cave is on the valley floor line, thus belonging equally to both settlements. Its administrative classification is therefore arbitrary. It is located in the Kalicsa valley, about 200 metres from the Édes-lyuki hut, moving upstream along the stream. Its length is 3.08 metres. It consists of an eastern and a western branch. Above it flows the stream, which forms a waterfall at the entrance. The bottom is formed by wet stone blocks.
Formation
A cave formed among the andesite and andesite block accumulations deposited by the stream.
Research history
In 1996 József Tinn discovered it and mapped it together with Eszter Nagy. The description was prepared by József Tinn. The area was otherwise brought to attention by the name of the Édes-lyuki hut, but no trace of the presumed namer was found.
The manuscript titled Bibliography of Hungary's Karst Caves, completed on 12 November 2001, includes the Kalicsa-álbarlang in its cave name index. The cave name index mentions one literary work that deals with the cavity. Clause 364 does not mention it, clause 363 does mention it. In the study published in the 2014 Karst Development, it is readable that Tahin is located at the Kalicsa-álbarlang. The cave is about 3 m long. It is one of the 101 caves of the Visegrád Mountains.
