The Kántor Sándor Fazekasház in Karcag stands as a memorial to one of the notable pottery centers of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County. The exhibitor’s namesake, Kántor Sándor, was a prominent figure of Karcag pottery and folk applied arts, who received the Kossuth Prize in 1978 for his work.

On the site, according to the former 18th‑century way of life organized for animal husbandry, the farm buildings stood close to the road, and the residential building was constructed farther away. The surviving residential house was built in the last third of the 19th century in a folk classicist style. It was owned by a modest peasant, and in its street room they displayed the typical interior furnishing of this wealthy peasant layer. In the other locations they set up an exhibition presenting Karcag pottery and the oeuvre of Kántor Sándor. At the beginning of the 20th century Kántor Sándor’s pottery workshop operated in the house.
