Katip Sinan Mosque was commissioned in 1496 by Sinan Bey, the kitchen clerk (Matbah-ı Amire) of the second Beyazıt in the Fatih district of Istanbul. Because Grand Vizier Daltaban Mustafa Pasha's fountain and palace were located nearby, the mosque is also called Daltaban Mosque.

This mosque has a feature that is not found in any other mosque in the world. That is a coffin in its dome.
