Lake Borostyán
Lake Borostyán lies near Zalalövő, close to the gateway of the Őrség region on the Zala–Vas border in western Hungary. The lake functions as a local recreation spot, with a maintained, shaded beach, a lakeside promenade and food stalls serving visitors through the warmer months. Beyond swimming, the lake supports a range of outdoor activities including water sports, fishing, and cycling and hiking routes that lead into the surrounding countryside, and it includes a separate, enclosed section of shoreline set aside for visitors bringing dogs. As a smaller, locally run alternative to Hungary's larger lakes, Borostyán draws visitors looking for a quieter base from which to explore the wooded hills and villages of the Őrség area.
