Lake Gaga
Gaga (Grago) Lake, located in the district of Fatsa in Ordu, at the 8th kilometre of the Fatsa-Aybastı highway and in the Yassıtaş neighbourhood of Fatsa, is a lake formed as a result of a landslide.
Gaga Lake was formed as a result of a landslide. After the landslide, numerous depressions of various sizes were created, and the depressions filled with rainwater naturally forming a lake. The many small lakes in this area later dried up naturally or were drained by the local people for agricultural use. Gaga Lake consists of two separate basins, the larger of which is approximately 200 × 250 m in width and 15 m deep. To its west there is another section connected by a small channel; this section is about 150 × 180 m wide and its depth does not exceed 1–2 m.
There is a small island in the middle of the lake, and it is associated with the presence of the remains of an old structure.
Although no stream flows into the lake, it has a small channel leading to the Bolaman River, and the lake contains crayfish, carp and local fish.
