Maqsud İbrahimbəyov Creative Center — a museum dedicated to the work of Maqsud İbrahimbəyov, an Azerbaijani writer, playwright, screenwriter and deputy. The center is headed by Anna İbrahimbəyova.
Building
The building was constructed in 1914 for the writer's maternal grandfather, oil industry worker Ələkbər Məşədibəyov. After the revolution, it was nationalized in 1924. The architect of the building was Zivər bey Əhmədbəyov. The writer's mother Fatma khanım Məşədibəyova‑İbrahimbəyova was born in this house. After the revolution the building was rebuilt and turned into a residential house consisting of communal apartments and was used for this purpose until the 1970s. During the years of the Second World War the basement of the building was used as a shelter.
The building has two floors, a terrace and a basement. Since 1978 the Soviet Peace Committee's Azerbaijan branch has operated in this building.
As an important cultural heritage object, the building was included in 2001 in the list of historical monuments of the "Icheri Sheher" State Historical‑Architectural Reserve.
