Nakilbend Mosque
Nakilbend Mosque, Nakilbent Mosque or Nahilbend Mosque; a mosque located in the Fatih district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. It is situated in the Küçükayasofya Neighborhood, on Nakilbent Street.
In the 15th century, it was commissioned by Hacı Hasan Ağa, the armorer of Çandarlı Halil Pasha, on a cellar. On June 3, 1912, it became unusable due to damage from a fire. The mosque remained in a ruined state for a while, and was later repaired by the public. In 1962, the previously wooden portico was rebuilt in reinforced concrete and added to the structure.
The interior of the rectangular-plan mosque measures 16.60 m × 10.60 m. Windows are located on the side façade facing Gelinlik Street. Its walls are made of rubble stone, and the arches are built of brick, forming a masonry structure. The mosque has a roof covered with plaster; its mihrab is marble, and the pulpit and lectern are wood. It has a five-bay rear prayer hall and a single-tier minaret composed of continuously successive rows of stone and brick.
