North Agora of Miletus
In the centre of the western side of the agora there was a small Ionic prostyle temple with a pronaos and a naos, with four columns on the façade. In the centre of the agora there was an altar. In the north‑west part of the square there was a stoa of 400 BC with the so‑called “Transfiguration of the blood”, which condemned the oligarchs who ruled the city during the Ionian revolt.
The east side of the agora was originally open. Later, a wall was built on the east side and later commercial premises were added. On the southwest side of the agora was the Pritaneion. On the south side of the agora was the Bouleuterion and on the southern side the South Agora. On the east side of the agora was the Sacred Way, on the other side of which was the so‑called Ionic Stoa.
