North Kazakhstan Regional Museum of Fine Arts is a city planning and architectural monument included in the list of republican significance historical and cultural monuments of North Kazakhstan region.

Historical data

The building is a pre‑revolution wooden house monument belonging to the owner of the sawmill and forest industry G.A. Yusefovych. The monument is considered a wooden house with a brick foundation and a lower part of the wall protruding outward. Its unique volumetric‑spatial composition consists of a two‑storey section with a T‑shaped single‑storey annex attached to it. The latter is the main façade facing the street. On the top of the façade’s pediment a dome resembling a roof ending in a roof‑spike is installed. The roof decoration, the molding of the window frames, and the belts on the façade are made in a unified style, which experts classify as belonging to the structure of the “modern” style.

Over the years, the building housed a children’s home, a colony for juvenile offenders, a clinic, a pedagogical college, a workers’ youth school, and others. Since 1985 the museum association operated, and since 1989 – the North Kazakhstan Museum of Fine Arts.
