Jananam-akhun Seitimuly named mosque — Shalqar district central mosque) - one of the two mosques in the city of Shalqar, Aktobe, Kazakhstan, located at 39.

The chief imam of the mosque is Zhambyl Almuankhabetuly Tleubay (before him the mosque imam and regional chief imam was Bakhytbek Nurgabiuly Tajimbet, who is now the imam of the Aktobe Central Mosque).

History

The mosque was built in 1992, one year after Kazakhstan gained independence. Previously there was another mosque in Shalqar, which was one of the 68 mosques in Kazakhstan during the Soviet era. After the new mosque was built, the Jananam-akhun old mosque building was left unattended and then fell into ruin.

In 2010 the mosque building was renovated and upgraded: a new roof made of profile sheet was installed, brick work was covered with a cement layer and painted a pale pink color, and plastic windows replaced the wooden windows.

Features

Mosque capacity: 200 people. The mosque consists of a large prayer hall, imam's room, a common room for various needs, and a corridor connecting everything. There is a specially equipped room for ablution, separate toilets are located in the mosque courtyard. At the corners of the building there are vertically fixed metal pipes attached to domes resembling minarets. A separate true minaret is located in the mosque courtyard and is built of red brick. The mosque dome is made of metal and painted blue, with a traditional half-moon on top.
