Öresun Han
Öresin Han or Tepesi Delik Han is a caravanserai located on the Silk Road in the Aksaray-Nevşehir route. It is about 24 km from Aksaray.
It is still unknown today who commissioned Öresin Han. Because it has no inscription, the builder, the patron, and the construction date are unknown; a stone slab on a crown gate in the restoration of the han bears the date 1138 and it is estimated to belong to the Seljuk period. This small-scale han was built without a courtyard. Cut stone and re-used stone were used in its construction. The entrance is located in the northeast. The plan differs from standard layouts and uses a five-section arrangement. However, the north and south ends of these sections do not connect to the walls. There are sections extending parallel to the wall in the north and south. In the center of the structure, a central building layout is formed by two long sections cut horizontally and vertically.
At the intersection of the horizontal and vertical sections there is a dome. In this way, it appears that four separate sections are created within the building. In each section, the sections are divided by three pillars. The tops of the sections are covered with a cradle vault. No decorative elements are used in the building.
This han is currently used for tourism purposes and its ownership belongs to the General Directorate of Foundations.
