Qax State Nature Reserve

Qax State Nature Reserve — a reserve in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Based on the development of the network of specially protected natural areas of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the protection of fauna in the border summer pastures with Ilisu State Nature Reserve and on the Acınohur plain, and the restoration of animal species whose populations have been depleted, as well as taking into account the presentation agreed upon by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Land and Cartography Committee, and the Qax District Executive Authority, it was established by Decision No. 84 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 16 June 2003. Its area is 36.836 hectares. Fauna is protected in the border summer pastures with Ilisu State Nature Reserve and on the Acınohur plain, and animal species that are being depleted are restored.
