The work “Samariya” by Abu Tohirxoja states that the Qusamiya madrasa was located in the area of the Banni Nojiya cemetery (the present Shohizinda cemetery of Samarkand), while an‑Nasafi, in his work “Qandiyai xurd”, calls this madrasa a mosque and notes that it was situated near the Banni Nojiya cemetery. The mosque and the madrasa are attached to each other but are separate monuments. This higher madrasa was built by the Seljuk ruler Sultan Sanjar Moziy (1118‑1157).
