Razin Cave — The cave is located in the Bakikhanov settlement of Sabunchu district, Baku city. The entrance of Razin Cave is at the foot of the mountain called Bakikhanov or Kühül.

The name of the cave and the beginning of its interesting history coincide with the period of Stepan Razin’s first attack on the western shores of the Caspian Sea in 1667, when he was a robber in Tsarist Russia. It is recorded that Stepan Razin set up a camp in the cave and stored part of the loot he obtained during raids on the surrounding villages of Baku there. Later the local population named the area where he camped “Razin Mountain”.
