Case

On 14 November 2019, as a result of the collapse of the scaffolding, civil engineer Korkut Küçükcan

was trapped under the rubble. After 33 hours of search and rescue work, Korkut Küçükcan's body was reached.

In a statement made by the Gaziantep Governorship;

"On 16 November 2019 at around 00:45 at night, Korkut Küçükcan was reached in the eastern part. The first teams to reach Korkut Küçükcan told the people around that he was alive, he was quickly taken to an ambulance by health teams, and the initial check indicated that he was dead. The statement made by Gaziantep Governor Davut Gül was not intended to announce that he was rescued from the rubble. It was made as a thank‑you to the people who work day and night without distinction and wait. When looking at the incident, everyone present at the rubble site and listening to the conversation are the people who heard that Korkut Küçükcan was found alive by volunteer workers and applauded this. Autopsy results will determine the exact time of death; the preliminary autopsy indicated that it occurred due to a severe head injury causing brain hemorrhage, and more than 24 hours had passed since then."
