Sas-kői Fissure
The Sas-kői-hasadékbarlang is one of the caves located in the Visegrád Mountains in the Danube–Ipoly National Park. It is in the area of Szentendre.
Description
The Sas-kői-hasadékbarlang is located about 60 m north of the Sas-kői-kisbarlang, in the rock wall. The cave entrance is in the rock wall at about 5 m relative height, opening from a ledge.
The spectacular but difficult-to-traverse narrow fissure formed almost parallel to the rock wall. Below the cavity a marked, inward and downward widening long invisible fissure can be observed, but it cannot be entered, the beginning is very narrow. The cave is 5.1 m long and 1.3 m high.
Research history
The cave was first described by Imre Gönczöl in 1997. Its cave map was also drawn. In the manuscript bibliography of Hungarian non-karst caves completed on 12 November 2001, titled *Bibliography of Non-Karst Caves of Hungary*, the Sas-kői-hasadékbarlang appears in the cave name index. The cave name index mentions one literary work that deals with the cave. Proposition 366 does not mention it, proposition 365 does. In the study published in the 2014 *Karst Development* it is stated that the Sas-kői-hasadékbarlang located in Szentendre is one of the 101 caves of the Visegrád Mountains, which is 5.1 m long and 1.3 m high.
