The history
The Shirkent Historical and Natural Park was established by the decision of the Executive Committee of the City of Tursunzhoda on 21 May 1991 with the aim of protecting the rare flora and fauna genome, cultural values, as well as the organization of ecotourism.
Planning, preparation of the decision and further measures to justify the park was undertaken by the staff of the State Committee of the Tajik SSR on Nature Conservation, head of the VTC on the establishment of the first parks, head of the Nature Conservation Department of the Buzurukov district An. D. This first park in Tajik SSR with the aim of preserving the genome of the rare animal and plant world, its mineral resources, as well as for the organization of ecotourism was the first natural (regional) involvement. The project of justification was a specific advance planning to the region by Ermenko V. F., geologist V. P. Noykov, who later found it difficult to attract the geologists of Tajikistan, and the Russian geologist P. I. Shakirsky, who later found the part of the project to be more attractive.
