Side Museum
Side Museum, a museum established in the Old Town of Side.
The Side Museum was founded with restorations on a bath complex built in Roman times.
The entrance to the museum is through an east-facing gate, then passes through a stone-covered courtyard and climbs out into a large garden, which is believed to be the second heap of the bath.
The museum garden is actually the gymnasium and palace courtyards of the Roman Bath. The most important work within these courtyards, the floor covered with marble pieces, is a series of friezes featuring the mythological stories of Poseidon, the god of the sea, seen on the north wall of the courtyard.
