The Beldeutas sanctuary is a state zoological nature reserve in Karkaraly district, Karaganda region, forming part of the wider Karkaraly National Park. Its terrain is mountainous, with granite rock outcrops, forested slopes that turn vivid colors in autumn, and at least one stream running through the landscape, with storm damage to trees also recorded in the area. Like the rest of Karkaraly National Park, the sanctuary protects a "forest island" landscape, a patch of pine and birch woodland rising from the surrounding steppe on a granite massif, a terrain type rare enough in this part of Kazakhstan to have made the wider Karkaraly area a notable retreat since Soviet times. The Beldeutas section specifically carries zoological protection status, reflecting its role in sheltering wildlife within this mountain-forest habitat rather than being managed purely for scenery.
