18 Mart Hatime Ana Ulu Mosque

The 18 Mart Hatime Ana Ulu Mosque is a large modern mosque on the Terzioğlu campus of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, built on land provided by the university and constructed by the İÇDAŞ company starting in 2019. Designed in a style drawing on classical Ottoman imperial mosque architecture while using contemporary building techniques, it is the largest mosque in Çanakkale, with a total built area of over 5,000 square meters across basement, ground floor, and gallery levels, able to hold around 10,000 worshippers at once. The building has four minarets, two rising 60 meters with two balconies each and two reaching 55 meters with a single balcony, along with a domed prayer hall entered through an emphasized ceremonial portal around an inner courtyard. Its name commemorates the Çanakkale martyrs honored on March 18, the anniversary of the 1915 naval victory in the Dardanelles, and the complex also houses the Çanakkale Mufti's Science, Wisdom, and Art Center.
