Ali Pasha Bazaar
Ali Pasha Bazaar in Edirne is a covered market from the Ottoman period.
It was commissioned by Grand Vizier Hersekli Semiz Ali Pasha to Mimar Sinan in the years 1560-65. It was built to provide income for Semiz Ali Pasha's foundation in Babaeski. It is located in the center of Edirne, at the corner of Saraçlar Street and the road to Kapıkule. The market, which is 300 meters long, has 130 shops.
The bazaar, a small-scale counterpart of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, is a thick-walled building of cut stone and has six gates.
