Tamburacılar Mosque
Tamburacılar Mosque, a mosque built in the center of Edirne by the philanthropist named Kemal son Hacı Hüseyin. The mosque took this name because the site was previously the Tamburacılar Bazaar.
A rectangular‑plan, wooden‑roofed mosque located within a small courtyard. Its single‑storey, conical‑dome, cut‑stone minaret stands in the middle of the southwest façade. In the courtyard there is a fountain.
The mosque underwent extensive renovation in 1997; its capacity, which was 70 before the renovation, was increased to 500 people when the adjacent warehouse belonging to Ali Erbayraktar was donated and added to the mosque. The mosque’s library, containing about 5,000 books, also serves the public.
