Akşehir Western Front Headquarters Museum is a headquarters building that played an important role in the National Liberation War.

The building was constructed in 1904-1905, during the tenure of Mayor Bostan Bey, as the Municipality Building. The two‑storey building is stone‑based, with brick and mortar materials. After the victory of the Battle of Sakarya, when the enemy was positioned east of the Afyon‑Eskişehir line, the Western Front Headquarters in Alagöz Village was moved to Akşehir. On 18 November 1921 the Headquarters that arrived in Akşehir settled in the municipal building. Until 24 August 1922, when they moved to the front for the Great Offensive, work was carried out in this building. During the nine‑and‑a‑half months, the preparations for the Great Offensive were managed from here, plans were made here and decisions were taken here. Meanwhile Mustafa Kemal visited Akşehir many times to supervise the work and direct the preparations. Later, this building was transferred to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 1964 to be turned into a museum. After a major restoration, it was opened to visitors on 5 July 1966 as the "Atatürk and Ethnography Museum". After the renovation and arrangement carried out in 1981, it took its present name due to its main function. Restoration and exhibition‑arrangement works were carried out in 1988‑1995 and 2001, and in its current form it was reopened to visitors on 5 July 2001.

The shop fronts on the east and south parts of the building's ground floor have been closed, and here panels made with the agrafito technique have been created to prepare for the "Great Offensive" and to reenact the "Great Offensive". The museum's ground floor houses the Administrative Section. The upper floor, which has remained with its original material from the time of the Headquarters to the present day, includes the large room in the south corner, which is the room where Atatürk worked and where the decision for the Great Offensive was made. The rooms to the west of this room are the workrooms of the Western Front Headquarters Commander İsmet Paşa, and the room to its east is the workroom of the Headquarters Chief of Staff Asım Gündüz. A wax statue of İsmet Paşa has been placed at his desk. In the room located in the north corner, the showcases exhibit items and weapons that were gifted to Atatürk and used by him.

In the other four rooms, the biographies of officers who worked at the Headquarters, excerpts from the Nutuk, plaques, photographs, maps, documents and weapons are displayed. On the wall panel in the central hall are photographs of Atatürk and İsmet İnönü taken in Akşehir, and in the central showcase are the medals and certificates of Akşehir veterans. In the room on the left at the stair exit, there are firearms and non‑firearm weapons thought to have been used in the War of Independence, a panel narrating the biography of Akşehir MP Hacı Bekir Sümer, and a rifle presented to him. The room symmetrical to this one contains the biographies of officers who served at the Headquarters and the records of some Akşehirian martyrs of the War of Independence.
