Ahlat Museum is an archaeology and city museum in Ahlat.
With the initiative of the Ministry of National Education, in 1968 construction of a museum building began on the part remaining on the road south of the Ahlat Seljuk Cemetery, which is an open-air museum, with the aim of building an indoor museum next to it. The museum, opened in 1971, consisted of two rooms. In the first room, various Turkish textile samples such as uçkur, peşkir and towel, as well as women's clothing samples such as three skirts, bindal, horseshoe and socks were displayed. In the second room, handwritten Qur'ans and gold‑decorated plaques, metal kitchen utensils and other items related to daily life were exhibited.
Because the building became insufficient, in 2011 construction of a new museum building began at a different location. The new museum building was opened with a ceremony held on 13 June 2018, attended by Culture and Tourism Minister Numan Kurtulmuş. The museum's items are now exhibited in four areas: archaeological, urban memory, foyer and garden.
