Cinci Han in Safranbolu is a historic caravanserai. It was commissioned by Karabaşzade Hüseyin Efendi in 1645.

History

The caravanserai, commissioned by Karabaşzade Hüseyin Efendi (Cinci Hoca) in 1645, is located on the historic Silk Road. Its architect is not precisely known. Used as a caravanserai until the Silk Road lost its functionality in the 20th century, the building was then used as a warehouse for a period. Today it operates as a hotel.

During its construction, Cinci Hoca, who had strong relations with the palace, received financial support from Kösem Sultan.
