Ertis Museum
The Ertis Museum in Pavlodar is described as Kazakhstan's first museum devoted to the natural sciences. It occupies a two-story building of about 2,400 square meters on Isinaliyeva Street that formerly housed a fire and rescue service, now converted into nine exhibition halls able to host roughly 600 visitors at a time. The museum was financed with sponsorship from the Eurasian Group and is run by a staff of about 30. Its collection draws on finds from the Pavlodar region spanning geology, archaeology, and ancient and medieval history, with a large reconstructed mammoth skeleton as its signature exhibit. The ground floor holds collection storage, restoration laboratories, and administrative space, while the upper floor combines an exhibition hall with a planetarium and a section focused on contemporary nature, making it one of the region's more ambitious recent additions to Kazakhstan's museum network.
