Füzes-tó
Füzes-tó is a small, roughly three-hectare lake near the village of Látrány in Somogy county, set among vineyards and woodland close to the southern shore of Lake Balaton. The lake originated in the early nineteenth century and has developed gradually over more than a hundred years into a quiet, naturally stocked fishing water. That long, undisturbed development allowed the lake to build up an unusually strong and varied fish population, including specimens of notable size, which has made it a popular destination for anglers from the wider Balaton region. Despite its modest footprint, Füzes-tó is valued less for scale than for the peaceful rural setting and the quality of its fishing, offering a low-key counterpoint to the more heavily visited lakeside resorts nearby.
