The Hacı Abdullah Halife Mosque stands in Tekke village, in Giresun's Yağlıdere district, on land once part of a religious endowment established in the name of Gülbahar Hatun, mother of Sultan Selim I, during the period when her son governed the region as provincial lord in Trabzon. The mosque is named after Hacı Abdullah Halife, a local religious teacher and spiritual figure of that era who is remembered as one of Anatolia's notable spiritual masters. Built roughly five centuries ago, the mosque is especially valued for the hand-painted decoration covering its plastered interior walls, created using natural pigments and egg white and featuring vases, flowers, trees and depictions of paradise and mosque scenes rendered in the traditional kalemişi technique. This combination of a modest village mosque with unusually rich figurative wall painting makes it one of the more distinctive historic religious buildings in the Giresun region.
