Kiremitçi Süleyman Çelebi Mosque, also known as Kızıl Mosque and Kızıl Mescid, is a historic mosque located in the Eyüpsultan district. It was commissioned by Kiremitçi Süleyman Çelebi in 1531. The mosque is situated on the right corner of the intersection of Zalpaşa Street and Kızıldeğirmeni Street. Opposite the mosque is a fountain built by Sokollu Mehmed Pasha, and next to the fountain is the Afife Hatun Tekke. It received the name Kızıl Mescid because of its thin red brick minaret on the western façade. Its wooden pulpit was made by Hace Fâtıma Hanım, the wife of Feyzullah Nafiz Efendi, and the stone boat in the courtyard was erected in 1865 by Yusuf Daniş Bey. Restored in 2015, the mosque is currently open for worship. The tomb of Kiremitçi Süleyman Çelebi is located in the direction of the mosque’s mihrab. In 1586, a Sıbyan school was built on the tomb by Ramazan Ağa. Historic graves are located around the mosque. Recently, the name of the mosque was officially changed back to "Kiremitçi Süleyman Çelebi Mosque," as it was historically.
