Kurban Nasuh Baba Mosque
Kurban Nasuh Baba Mosque or Sheikh Nuri Efendi (Wednesday) Tekke, a historic mosque from the Ottoman Period located in Ahmediye Neighborhood of the Üsküdar district of Istanbul. It was commissioned by Sheikh Kurban Nasuh Baba. Construction of the mosque began in 1586 and after a one‑year building process it was opened for worship in 1587. Architecturally the mosque reflects Ottoman influences.
Over time the mosque fell into ruin, and in the 1600s a person named El‑Hac Ebu Bekir had a minbar added to the prayer hall, converting it into a mosque. Later the mosque was demolished and was rebuilt again in 1973.
It was originally built as a mosque in the original plan. Later a muwaqqith office and a fountain were added. The mosque remained among apartment buildings. The area where the mosque is located was known as Tavaşi Hasan Ağa Neighborhood until the 2008 regulations. The mosque is very close to Tabaklar Mosque. The patron of the mosque, Kurban Nasuh Baba, is buried in front of the mihrab.
