Nalçacı Halil Mosque
Nalçacı Halil Mosque, Şeyh Tului Tekke or Nalçacı Mosque, a historic mosque from the Ottoman period located in the Zeynep Kamil Neighborhood of the Üsküdar district of Istanbul. It was commissioned by Şeyh Halil Efendi. Construction of the prayer house began in 1625 (?) and after a one‑year building period it was opened for worship in 1626 (?). Architecturally the mosque reflects Ottoman influences.
By the order of the provincial governor of Marash, Abdullah Pasha, a minbar was added to the prayer house in 1750. Next to the mosque is the Nalçacı Dergâh. In 1874 it was repaired by Hüseyin Cemil Pasha, son of Mehmed Namık Pasha, and at the same time the tomb of Nalçाड़ी Halil Efendi was erected. It collapsed in the 1940s and underwent extensive restoration in 2011.
It was originally built as a prayer house. Later a courtyard and a dargah were added. The mosque is located just to the right of the street. The area where the mosque stands was known as Tabaklar Neighborhood until the 2008 reorganization. The mosque is very close to Arakiyeci Hacı Cafer Mosque. The patron of the mosque, Şeyh Halil Efendi, is buried in the courtyard.
