The Ferenc Medgyessy Memorial Museum is located in Debrecen, under Péterfia Street number 28. The museum, founded in 1982, is a branch of the Déri Museum.

Building

The memorial museum opened in the former city manager's house, a classicist building with a porch built in Debrecen in 1770, in the year following the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ferenc Medgyessy, a double recipient of the Kossuth Prize, in 1982.

Collection

The museum's collection consists of the estate of Ferenc Medgyessy, and its permanent exhibition presents the oeuvre of the Great Plain school sculptor, especially his small-scale plastic works. The museum courtyard is decorated with Medgyessy's bronze statues. The museum also functions as a contemporary art gallery, serving as a venue for temporary exhibitions and cultural events.
