History
In 1827 Muhammad Alixon erected a madrasa with 97 (or 99) large and small classrooms opposite the Haqquli Mingboshi madrasa in the city of Qoʻqon. It was the most magnificent madrasa of its time in the Khanate of Qoʻqon. During the period of the Turkestan General‑Governorate, the madrasa employed 7 teachers who taught students.
According to the endowment document of the madrasa, it was founded by Madalixon in 1829 and the endowment deed bears the seals of Madalixon and the qazis of that period. As indicated in the deed, of the total endowment lands, 9 100 tanobs were arable land, 520 tanobs were meadow land, and 260 tanobs were gardens. In addition, 3 000 tanobs of uncultivated land were endowed to the Madalixon madrasa. The founder of the madrasa leased the endowment properties. In 1877 the endowment properties in the city were leased for 425 tilla, and the endowment properties in the villages were leased for 235 tilla and 80 115 pud of grain. In 1881 the income from the endowment properties of the Madalixon madrasa was as follows: 495 tilla rent from the city endowment properties, 255 tilla from the village properties and 1 550 quarters of grain.
