Raspberry Cape is a tiny state natural monument covering roughly half a hectare on the shore of Lake Zerendi, in the Zerendi district of Akmola region. It lies near Smolnaya Hill, one of the granite elevations ringing the lake, and is protected chiefly for its rocky, pine-dotted shoreline, a miniature version of the granite-and-forest scenery that makes the Zerendi lake district a popular retreat in Kazakhstan's northern steppe. The cape's name comes from the reddish tone of its exposed rock, visible especially from across the water or from the surrounding hills. Along with neighboring Green Cape, it belongs to Kazakhstan's register of natural monuments of republican significance and falls within the broader zone associated with Kokshetau National Park. Given its small size, it functions less as a wildlife refuge than as a protected scenic landmark, one of several rocky capes that give Lake Zerendi's shoreline its varied outline.
