Nurdaulet Mosque is a mosque located on Abilkair Khan Avenue in the city of Aktobe. The mosque building is adjacent to the “Nurdaulet” trade‑entertainment center owned by Boris Baizharkinov. The religious community “Nurdaulet Mosque” (leader: Boris Baizharkinov) manages the mosque. The mosque has its own madrasa and a “House of Traditions”. Next to the mosque building there is a “Dastur” kitchen where non‑alcoholic wedding ceremonies and memorial events are held. The imam of the mosque is Amen Nurbolat.

History

In 1999 the Baizharkinov family’s construction company completed the construction of the “Nurdaulet” trade house, but the right wing of the building was still unfinished, and the owners decided to convert it into a mosque because the central mosque of Aktobe could not accommodate everyone who wanted to pray, and it was located far from the city center. The mosque, with a height of 37 meters, a separate minaret and a total area of 2 thousand square meters, was being built for about six months.

The opening of the “Nurdaulet” Mosque coincided with the 130th anniversary of the city of Aktobe, and the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev attended the opening ceremony of the new place of worship. During the Great Patriotic War Boris Baizharkinov’s father – Nurdaulet Adilsh – who died in the war, decided to name the mosque in honor of his son (Kazakh Nurdaulet Adilshuly), whose body has not yet been found.

The naming of the mosque after the mentioned person caused a dispute between the mosque builders and the city administration. In the end, the builders succeeded in preserving the name “Nurdaulet”.

The mosque’s area is 1730 m², height: 37 meters. In addition to the main hall, there are two prayer rooms of 90–100 m², a women’s room (90 m²), a registration room for Muslim wedding ceremonies (75 m²) and other service areas (kitchen, muezzin room). The mosque is two‑storey: the first floor has the main prayer hall, madrasa, imams’ rooms; the second floor has apartments for women, an additional prayer room, rooms for mosque staff. The width of the mosque’s mihrab is 5 meters, height: 6.5 meters, the minbar’s height: 9 meters. A crystal chandelier with a height of 7 meters was installed in the main hall.

The mosque has 4 domes: an inner dome (18 m), a large dome (16.5 m), a middle dome (14 m) and a small dome (6 m) at the entrance to the mosque. The tower’s height is 57 meters and its diameter is 36.5 meters.
