Nurettin Ersin Pasha Mosque is a mosque built in Girne in 1999. It takes its name from the Turkish commander Nurettin Ersin Pasha, who served in the Cyprus Movement of 1974.

The construction of the mosque was financed by the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Lefkoşa, and was completed in cooperation with the Presidency of Diyanet Affairs and the Northern Cyprus Foundation Administration.

Architectural features

The mosque is inspired by the architecture of the Ottoman classical period and has a central plan typology. A large main dome is placed on an octagonal dome and supported by four large arches.

The main entrance to the mosque is characterized by a three-part spiked arched rectangle, which is covered with small domes.

The interior has a large hall area, the walls are covered with blue-white Ottoman Chinese. The Chinese are decorated with classic Ottoman motifs and line art, with Qur'an verses on the borders.

The church has a double minaret. The position and proportions of the minarets are designed to form a composition that completes the mosque.
