The Rákospalotai Museum is located in Pestújhely, the 15th district of Budapest, at 81 Pestújhelyi út. The museum operates as an institution of the Csokonai Cultural Center.

The museum opened on 10 January 1960 in Rákospalota at 39 Kossuth Street (the building’s current number is 55/a) in a cityscape-protected school building. This was the third local history collection among the capital’s districts. In 1984 the museum was closed due to the poor technical condition of the building. In November 1991, after being moved to Pestújhely, the institution reopened. The collection includes a folk exhibition of the Palóc people living in the area and an art gallery, including the legacy of painter Viktor Madarász.

Since 2006 it has regularly hosted the one‑day Garden Exhibition held annually in May–June, where the district’s renowned fine and applied artists exhibit.
