Sulut Mosque — a historic mosque in the village of Sulut, Ismayilli district, Azerbaijan.

History

There is information about the mosque being built in 1820.

It is reported that after 1920 the building was used as a religious and secondary school, later as a grain warehouse. Then the mosque remained unused for more than 40 years.

On the night of 1 November 2013, a fire broke out in the mosque. The fire was extinguished during the night, and the spread of flames to nearby houses and barns was prevented. However, due to strong wind and small fire sources remaining in the mosque, the fire reignited in the mosque in the early morning hours of that day and work was carried out in the area to prevent the flames. As a result, the mosque was burned. Additionally, there is information that several trees in the mosque courtyard, as well as a plane tree over 400 years old, also burned.
