The Törley Mausoleum is located at 6 Sarló Street, Budafokon, Budapest XXII district.

History

The Secessionist-Neobyzantine chapel was built in 1909 by his widow, Sacelláry Irén after the unexpected death of Törley József in 1907.

The architect was Ray Rezső Vilmos, built by Italian architects, and the stone carving and sculpture work was done by József Damko.

The building uniquely combines the traditional Orthodox mausoleum and the secession signs, one of the largest tombstones in the country, and consists of two levels: an upper chapel and a crypt (underground temple).

The building is now in a very neglected condition from the inside, not to be visited.
