The Viski Károly Museum or The Treasury of Kalocsa Flowers is a museum in Kalocsa, the Kalocsa-Sárköz Landscape Museum, with three permanent exhibitions.

Collections

The museum has a folk collection of 6,742 items, including textiles, furniture and pottery. The museum's archaeological collection is not significant, yet it has already organized several excavations. Like the archaeological collection, the museum's historical collection is also not large, consisting of 380 items, among which a few are finds from the 18th and 19th centuries. Visual arts do not play an important role in the museum, the building preserves only 119 objects of this type.

Permanent Exhibitions

One permanent exhibition is “Minerals and Life”, which presents the mineral collection created in the former Kalocsa Jesuit high school; in 1940 the number of exhibition items was 4,512. Another permanent exhibition is “Peoples, Lifestyles, Traditions in the Kalocsa Sárköz”, which shows the life of the Sárköz people in the 18th–20th centuries. The third exhibition is called “The Kalocsa Medal Collection”, and it dates back to the end of the 1800s. In 1860 the Jesuits received 20 medals, and then the high school medal collection began to grow. The museum received the collection in 1979, which contained almost 8,500 items.
