Antalya Etnografya Museum
The Antalya Ethnography Museum occupies two restored nineteenth-century mansions in the old quarter of Kaleiçi, each given over to a different side of the city's recent past. The lower mansion houses Turkish-Islamic artifacts such as calligraphy and religious objects, while the upper mansion is arranged to recreate Ottoman-era domestic life, displaying furniture, costumes and household items alongside architectural fittings salvaged from old Antalya houses. Together the two buildings let visitors move from religious and civic material culture into the private rooms of an Ottoman household, offering a street-level counterpart to the ancient collections of Antalya's larger archaeological museum. Housed in genuine period buildings rather than purpose-built galleries, the museum is as much a preserved example of Kaleiçi domestic architecture as it is a collection of folk and historical artifacts.
