İskele Mosque (Antalya)

İskele Mosque sits at the edge of Antalya's old harbor in the Kaleiçi quarter, and locals point to it as the smallest historic mosque in the city, covering barely forty-six square meters. Ottoman records credit its construction to Kenan Pasha and Şakir Efendi in 1903, though researchers believe a Seljuk-era prayer house once occupied the same spot. The building is laid out on an unusual hexagonal plan over two levels: the open ground floor shelters a small spring at its center, while the upper story holds the actual prayer hall beneath a domed, hipped roof. A slender wooden minaret with a single balcony rises above it. Positioned near the old Tekelioğlu House and the stepped lane of Kırkmerdiven, the mosque remains a working place of worship and one of the most recognizable small landmarks of Antalya's walled marina district.
